So you think your Kung Fu's pretty good huh?

soooo...

i just got back from my vegas/bay retreat and its been a great two weeks. Got to spend plenty of time with a beautiful female companion over the last couple weeks and it turned out to be the best holiday season ive ever had. Im still broke as a muh fucking joke, but sealed 10 UFC jobs for the next four months so that should help clear some debt and facilitate my move to the bay.

Arrived into vegas on christmas day and the holiday took a backseat to work once i got to the Mandalay bay. It was a short week before fight night so we had to get to work right away. Pics are pretty much all blurry do to the shitty camera phone i had to use.

First task was to oversee the completion of the ring. Its eerie to see a fully functional octagon sitting in an empty arena. The sight never gets old because its the only time when you can sit in the events center without complete chaos going on around you.

Aint nothing like sitting in an airport waiting for lost baggage. Most people tend to complain, bitch, go crazy, ect. Personally, i choose to just sit back and play Gin Rummy...with Matt Hughes. It was an intense back and fourth game between Matt and his brother Mark (one of the funniest people ive met all year), a game that left me and Marc Fiore dying of laughter before we were told that their luggage was still in St. Louis.

Fight night came and tension was high. As you all know, we had a great card to offer and hopefully it didnt let anyones expectations down. Plenty of high profile fighters and celebs were in town for the fights, the Beyonce concert 24 hours later, the opening of Jay-Z's 40/40 club, and the new years celebration. Dan Henderson was in town to work with his fellow Team Quest fighters. Here's Hendo going over the rules with the commish before Soa goes out to battle Eddie Sanchez

Hendo and Soa going over the jab defense. Its too bad Uso didnt pay attention in this lesson because Sanchez used the jab to pick apart Palalei and ultimately earn the victory.

Jordan Radev in good spirits backstage after his loss to Dean Lister.

True bad blood between fighters is rare in the UFC. For the most part our fighters are true professionals who understand that the person standing across the ring from them is at work trying to earn a paycheck just like them. With that being said. Rich Clementi and Melvin Guillard truly have bad blood. We had to keep these two seperate the whole week and thought the tension was gonna boil over on stage at the weigh ins. Fortunately, they kept their cool and the only fighting was done in the confines of the octagon, where Rich won by rear naked choke. Anyone who watched knows that he had some choice words for Melvin. Here's Rich in a lighter mood signing his gloves for charity backstage.

Ive told you all before and i'll say it again. SINISTER BRAND FIGHTERS ARE FUCKING TAKING OVER THE GAME. Anderson holds the middleweight belt and Machida is running through the light heavyweight division on his way to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Next victim TITO ORTIZ. Here's Lyoto's brother and trainer Chinzo Machida and Sinister Brand owner, as well as manager for fighters like Lyoto Machida, Minotauro Noguerira, Paulo Fihlo, Ninja Rua, and Anderson Silva, Ed Soares. Expect big things from the Sinister camp in 08 including the opening of our gym Iron house (Black House in Brazil) in Big Bear, CA

After the fights, the mood backstage relaxs and people are usually in good spirits regardless of how their fights turned out. Here's Luis "Bana" Cane, Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva, and Brazilian Top Team manager Alex Davis shooting the shit while watching Liddell and Silva battle it out in the squared circle.

Yes, the celebs do use their fame to make their way backstage. Backstage sightings included Charles Barkley (and i was rocking my CB34s!!!), David Spade, Eric Banas, and the rockstar to end all rockstars Tommy Lee

Joe Rogan getting interviewed. Rogan would definitely knock the homie Mave out.

After the fights, id love to hit the after parties and rage it up, but im usually at the hospital making sure our fighters get cleared by the docs so they can go enjoy the night as well. There werent a lot of trips to the doc so i got to hit the Guillard/Machida after party at Rum Jungle. Good times. Palalei suffered a fractured eye socket at the hands of Eddie Sanchez.

Wand was in great spirits after the fights. Him and his crazy gorgeous wife invited me to their pad for a quick drink. Times were good, and cant wait to work with this legend of the ring in the near future. He only suffered a fractured nose and the standard bumps and bruises that Chuck usually hands out to his opponents.

Special thanks to the gorgeous JJN for your hospitality and patience these last couple weeks. Gracias for not killing me after the Victoria's Secret incident. Hopefully i was able to make up for that. Cant wait to see you again babe. See you fight fans for UFC Fight Night at the Palms in Sin City later this month
